The Kecksburg V.F.D. held their Old Fashion Days Festival on Sept. 16-17, 2006. There were many events scheduled for the two day festival. The festival began on Saturday with a colorful parade through the Kecksburg area. Through the next two days, other activities took place such as a Bed Race, Bucket Brigade Contest, and a Hay Bail Toss. On Saturday night the crowd was
entertained by the 706 Union Band and a great fireworks display provided by A-Liner Mfg., in Kecksburg.

On Sunday, a huge car cruise was held, along with a Burn out contest. The hundreds of visitors enjoyed the sound of the oldies as well. There was a lot of great food provided by various venders, and many people visited the new Kecksburg "Acorn" UFO monument which has found a permanent new home behind the Kecksburg V.F.D. truck station.

Inside was the arts & crafts vendor area and the Kecksburg V.F.D. UFO store. I assisted at the UFO Store on both days where I set up a visual display of Kecksburg UFO materials.

There were volumes of people looking over the visuals, and the crowd was very supportive of the local UFO incident, and my effort to find out the truth about what occurred. I noticed a great fascination of the subject by the local youngsters as well. Some new Kecksburg UFO witnesses also came forward for the first time.

The Kecksburg UFO & Festival committee has an assortment of high quality Kecksburg UFO memorabilia such as Tee-shirts, sweat shirts, caps, etc. which can be ordered through their website at www.kecksburgvfd.com or through e-mail at: kecksburgufo@zoominternet.net.

Fire trucks from local communities, floats, farm equipment, and horse drawn covered wagons took part in the parade which opened the two day festival. The parade came down from the Meteor Road area, and continued through Kecksburg.
The Kecksburg V.F.D. pumper, and rescue squad ambulance, were among the parade vehicles.
Fireworks lit the skies above Kecksburg on Saturday night.
A huge crowd came to the car cruise on Sunday.
Among those exhibiting their classic cars was Kecksburg UFO witness Bill Bulebosh (left). Researcher Stan Gordon is standing next to Bill. This 1964 Corvair, is the actual car that Bill was inside of at the time that he saw the UFO in 1965.
While everyone was having fun on Sunday, the Kecksburg V.F.D. had to respond to an actual emegency call, as they do on a regular basis.
As night fell, the Kecksburg UFO "Acorn" monument glowed in the darkness, from it's new illuminated display in the village.
The Kecksburg UFO & Festival Committee are continuing work on the monument project.
